News: Gurugram: DTCP seeks Sare Homes licence details for takeover-18-12-2020

Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar had directed the department to take over the group housing project, spread over 65 acres in Sector 92, following complaints by residents.

GURUGRAM: The department of town and country planning (DTCP) is gearing up to take over Sare Homes after the developer’s failure to fix the infrastructural deficiencies in the project.

Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar had directed the department to take over the group housing project, spread over 65 acres in Sector 92, following complaints by residents.

Now, the district town planner (DTP) has sought the details of the project licences and developers and companies working on the project. The resident welfare association (RWA) has already submitted the details of deficiencies in the residential project.

RS Batth, the DTP of Gurgaon, said: “We have sought details from the developers. After going through the submission made by the developer and RWA, we will write to the DTCP director seeking appropriate action. We’re trying to sort out the modalities to resolve the issues of the residential society.”

The licence for development of Sare Homes was originally issued to another builder, who transferred it to the present developer, also called Sare Homes. Three agencies, including Sare Homes, are working on the project at present. “We have sought the details of the licence, when it was transferred to another developer and the related documents and details of the agencies involved,” said Batth.

Representatives of Sare Homes could not be reached for a comment.

In March this year, the residents of Sare Homes Phase 3 had lodged a complaint with the district grievance committee against the builder over the non-operational firefighting system in the society and also highlighted the civic body’s failure in enforcing the fire safety norms as per the National Building Code.

“For last two years, we have been living without a functional firefighting system,” said Aditya Jakhar, president of Sare Homes Phase 3 RWA, adding that they had raised this issue before the CM.

In November, during a district grievance meeting in Gurgaon, CM Khattar had directed DTCP to take over the project, make the firefighting system operational and recover the cost from the builder’s assets. Praveen Malik, president of Sare Homes phases 1 and 2 RWA, said: “We hope that along with the firefighting system, the government will also resolve the other issues in the society. We have submitted details of pending development works.”
