News: Review licence cancellation order: Vatika Group to DTCP-19-12-2020
DTCP had cancelled the developer’s licence stating that they had failed to pay the external development charges (EDC) of Rs 23 crore.
GURUGRAM: After cancellation of licence of its residential plotted colony by department of town and country planning (DTCP), Vatika Group filed an application seeking review of the order claiming that they have paid Rs 2.48 crore extra for the Gurugram-based project. DTCP had cancelled the developer’s licence stating that they had failed to pay the external development charges (EDC) of Rs 23 crore.
Vatika Group on Friday filed a review application before the department after the latter revoked the licence over alleged non-payment of funds. The application stated that Vatika Group has paid an excess of Rs 2.48cr for which the application is pending with the department. The developer further said it has paid Rs 101.35 crore towards EDC and Rs 20.86 crore for the said license as of date.
“This licence (which was cancelled) is part of a bigger township spread over around 500 acres, consisting of 5 separate licences, four of them have been fully paid. In fact the company has paid more than Rs 559 crore to DTCP on account of EDC and IDC charges under these licences,” the application reads. Only Rs 20 crore is outstanding.
Viren Dhar, associate vice president (planning and coordination) in Vatika Limited, said, “We have regularly paid the EDC/IDC amounts without any default under these licences and also have a good intention to pay the balance amount.”
“We will have to check the details of the application filed by the developer and verify with our officials records,” said a senior official of DTCP.
The department of town and country planning (DTCP) had earlier cancelled the licence of a residential plotted colony spread over 84 acres for non-payment of external development charges (EDC) of around Rs 22 crore. The residential project, being developed by Vatika Ltd, is spread in sectors 81, 82, 82A, 83 and 84, and the licence was granted in 2014.
The residential project is located in the revenue estate of Sihi, Shikhopur, Badha, Sikanderpur Badha, Kherki Daula and Harsaru villages.
It is part of the Vatika India Next residential township.
