News: Municipal Corporation of Gurugram to take over 5 more private colonies-11-12-2020
GURUGRAM: The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has decided to take over maintenance of five more licensed colonies from their developers. These include Sushant Lok-2 and Sushant Lok-3, Greenwood City, DLF-4 and DLF-5.
The corporation is already working on takeover of six other colonies — Malibu Towne (Sector 47), Vipul World (Sector 48), Mayfield Garden (Sector 51), Uppal Southend and Rosewood City (Sector 49) and Vikas Marg.
The department of town and country planning (DTCP) had recently written to the developers of the five colonies to submit details of the project licence, area and status of pending infrastructure.
On Wednesday, DTCP officials handed over the documents required to initiate the takeover process to MCG, including service plan estimates, detail project reports (DPRs) and completion plans of the colonies.
Now, the corporation will conduct surveys of these colonies to identify infrastructural deficiencies and prepare separate DPRs. The civic body will then direct the developer to get pending work done within a stipulated time frame. In case the developer fails to complete the pending infrastructural work in time, it will be done by MCG at the cost of the developer.
A senior MCG official said the process of takeover of all 11 licensed colonies is likely to gain pace as the corporation has begun preparing reports on deficit infrastructure. “The corporation has also initiated the process for appointment of a consultant for preparing DPRs,” he said.
Once a consultant is appointed, the corporation will begin surveys and prepare a DPR for each colony, which will include plans for completion of pending infrastructure like roads, drainage and others, said an official.
Earlier, MCG had mainly sought information from DTCP on the building plan, layout of stormwater drains, water and sewerage lines, parks, total number of plots, year of construction and status of community centre for these colonies.
