GURUGRAM: Around 2-acre prime land in Gadoli Kalan village in Sector 37D was freed from encroachment on Monday. The enforcement team of town and country planning department demolished a 500m boundary wall, two houses, a property dealer’s office and four other structures in the colony that had been illegally developed.
District town planner RS Batth said the enforcement team visited Sector 37D, following complaints, and found that a colony was being developed on the 2-acre land without licence and mandatory permissions from any government agency.
Sources said not only the houses and boundary wall were constructed in the colony, but a property dealer had also set up an office in the colony, without acquiring the necessary permissions, to woo prospective buyers.
Batth along with the enforcement team used JCB machines to raze the illegal structures in police presence. He said the department is trying to find out the details of people involved in developing this colony, and the buyers and financial transactions related to deals. “We will also recommend police action against the developers. The developers did not stop construction even after being served notices by the department,” he said.
Meanwhile the department is struggling to check the re-development of illegal colonies on the land, which have been cleared in the past. “We have received some complaints from locals that few developers are again developing illegal colonies, which were demolished recently. We will launch a drive against them and strict action will be taken against them,” Batth said.
