Haryana government hands out land allotment letters, paves way for NPR
Haryana government on Thursday removed the biggest hurdle in making the Northern Peripheral Road (NPR) a reality.
Haryana PWD minister Rao Narbir Singh has given land allotment letters to 53 persons of Kherkidaula village, whose lands come under this project plan.
"We have given allotment letters to 53 villagers and will shift them to 37C sector of Haryana Urban Development Authority. The possession of the land will be given to them by March 1, 2017," Singh said. The construction of 18-km long expressway has been delayed by almost 6 years due to acquisition of lands. Landowners from Kherkidaula, New Palam Vihar and Chauma village moved court for their land.
The Haryana government claimed that land allotment letters to 66 affected villagers of New Palam Vihar and Chauma village have been already given last week and were allotted lands to the adjacent 110A sector. NPR is connecting Dwarka suburban locality with NH 8 at Kherkidaula and will provide optional carriageway between these two cities.
