News: UP RERA tells homebuyers to pay only into a project’s designated collection account-12-10-2026

The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) has urged homebuyers to be careful with property payments and deposit money only into the designated collection account of the relevant project, according to an advisory issued on October 12.

Buyers should check the account details on the official UP RERA portal before paying, which the regulator said brings transparency and protects them from financial risk. If a builder or promoter asks for money to be paid into any other account, buyers should report it through the dedicated link on the portal.

Last week the authority also extended the deadline for the Quarterly Progress Report for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, to October 21, 2026, to ease the move to digital signing of the accompanying certificates.
