News: UP RERA gives promoters until October 21 to file quarterly reports with digitally signed certificates-10-10-2026
The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) has pushed the deadline for the Quarterly Progress Report (QPR) for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, to October 21, 2026. The authority said in a statement on October 10 that the extension is meant to ensure a smooth transition to the revised digital procedure.
Promoters must file the QPR with digitally signed REG-1, REG-2 and REG-3 certificates issued by the architect, engineer and chartered accountant concerned. The procedure was set out in an Office Memorandum dated September 30, 2026, which requires Digital Signature Certificates (DSCs) to sign the certificates before they are uploaded on the UP RERA portal. The architect signs REG-1, the engineer REG-2 and the chartered accountant REG-3.
A QPR under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 is a periodic report that developers give the state RERA on a registered project’s construction progress, finances, approvals, compliance and timelines. It helps regulators monitor commitments and lets homebuyers track progress.
The authority noted that DSC-based signing and submission is being used for the first time, so promoters and professionals may need extra time to learn the workflow and complete the technical steps. Detailed instructions and step-by-step guidance are available on the UP RERA portal, and promoters have been asked to follow them.
