News: NCLAT asks Supreme Court-appointed panel for project-wise finish dates on 16 stalled Supertech projects-09-10-2026
The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) has directed the Apex Court Committee (ACC) overseeing revival of 16 stalled Supertech projects to give project-wise completion timelines, noting that its fresh schedule names no completion date.
In its October 1 order, the tribunal accepted the revised timelines but noted the affidavit only said completion would take 12 to 36 months. The committee must file a report with tentative dates for each project and disclose available funds before the next hearing on November 6.
In a September 24 affidavit, the committee said work would begin on January 16, 2027, with NBCC finalising tenders and planning at least 27 sub-tender packages. NBCC floated a tender for Supertech River Crest, Rudrapur, on September 16. Homebuyers of Supertech North Eye, one of the 16 projects, have separately approached the tribunal over NBCC’s delays.
The NCLAT cited a February 5, 2026 Supreme Court judgment that barred courts and tribunals from stopping NBCC from starting work, while letting aggrieved parties approach the Supreme Court. It added that only the committee can replace the project management consultant, after due diligence, if NBCC cannot finish a project in time. That stage had not come, it said, and the focus should be on completing the projects and handing over flats.
