News: UP government committee begins checking Suraksha Group’s compliance at Jaypee Wish Town-08-10-2026
A committee appointed by the Uttar Pradesh government has begun examining whether Suraksha Group is complying with the NCLT-approved resolution plan for Jaypee Wish Town in Sector 128, officials said on Wednesday. It is reviewing construction pace, use of homebuyers’ funds and manpower deployment.
Meetings with Suraksha representatives and homebuyers began on Oct 7 and run through Oct 8 and Oct 9, possibly longer. Santosh Kumar, Noida authority’s officer on special duty, who heads the five-member panel formed on September 11, said it is checking real progress and whether buyers’ money is used for its purpose. The panel also includes two officials each from the planning and finance departments of the Noida and Yamuna authorities.
In February the NCLT set up a fact-finding committee of former members Prasanta Kumar Mohanty and Deepti Mukesh, whose August 20 report found delays. Of 250 towers planned by Jaypee Infratech Limited (JIL), 91 (12,867 units) were complete before Suraksha took over. Suraksha was to finish 62 near-complete towers (6,067 units) in 18 months, but over two years later 3,444 possession offers and 2,614 sub-lease deeds had been issued, against more than 6,000 offers possible.
In September, promoter Sudhir Valia said 84 of 159 stalled towers were complete and 5,000 flats handed over. Ashish Mohan Gupta of JREAWS said the NCLT committee upheld buyers’ complaints, and buyers want project-wise and tower-wise deadlines.
