The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) has approved 11 projects across five districts with estimated investment of over Rs 2,086 crore, covering 1,873 residential and commercial units.
The approvals came at the authority’s 215th meeting, chaired by Chairman Sanjay Bhoosreddy, according to a statement.
Gautam Buddh Nagar had the largest investment, with two residential projects worth Rs 1,800.36 crore and 1,398 units. Lucknow had the most projects, five (two residential and three commercial), with about Rs 169.53 crore of investment and 198 units.
Ghaziabad received two residential projects with Rs 106.84 crore of investment and 211 units. Barabanki got one residential project of about Rs 5.78 crore with 53 units, and Moradabad one commercial project of about Rs 3.55 crore with 13 units.
The authority said it is working to make the sector more organised, transparent and accountable, and monitors project development. Bhoosreddy said UP RERA aims to ensure compliance with the RERA Act and a clear system for promoters and homebuyers, and will keep promoting balanced and well-planned development while protecting consumers.
UP RERA said the Rs 2,086.06 crore investment should benefit construction materials, transport, engineering and labour, and create local employment. It also credited state government policies promoting investment and simpler real estate processes for growth in the sector.
