News: Noida authority panel to check whether Suraksha is building Jaypee Wish Town as approved and using buyers’ money properly-17-09-2026
The Uttar Pradesh government has asked the Noida authority to form a five-member committee to examine whether Suraksha Group is building Jaypee Wish Town flats as per approved plans and whether homebuyers’ money is being spent on construction, according to an official order seen by HT.
Noida authority chief executive officer Krishna Karunesh formed the panel after a homebuyer complained of alleged irregularities. Officer on special duty Santosh Kumar heads it, with two members each from the planning and finance departments of the Noida authority and the Yamuna authority. It must report within a month.
It will check compliance with the NCLT-approved resolution plan, conformity with the approved detailed project report and layouts, any extra tower, floor or unit beyond the plan, actual progress, and use of buyers’ funds, Kumar told HT. He added that responsibility is split, with the Yamuna authority handling land allotment and the Noida authority approving maps and issuing occupancy certificates, and that the board will be asked to give the whole project to either Noida or YEIDA.
Jaypee Infratech’s insolvency began in August 2017, and the NCLT approved Suraksha’s bid on March 7, 2023. On Monday Suraksha said it had completed 84 towers with 7,913 units of the 159 that were stalled, handed over 5,000 flats and aims to finish 20,000 homes by March 2028. Its response to the order is awaited.
