News: HSPCB gives Gurugram building sites four days to put up web cameras or risk being sealed-11-09-2026
The Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) has given Gurugram construction sites four days to install web cameras to monitor dust-norm compliance, failing which they could be sealed, officials said.
On directions from the Commission for Air Quality Management, the board has issued show-cause notices to representatives of several sites larger than 500 square metres. All eligible sites must register on the HSPCB dust portal, said Akansha Tanwar, regional officer (North), Gurugram, and submit a fortnightly self-audit sheet. PM 2.5 and PM 10 sensors must be installed, and the whole site periphery needs dust barriers, tarpaulin, green net or scaffolding sheets.
Portal data shows 781 registered sites in Gurugram (north) have uploaded 6,196 self-audit reports and 622 in Gurugram (south) have submitted 5,300. Sites must also have water sprinklers, covered trucks for sand and debris, enclosed areas for grinding and cutting, and wheel washing for vehicles leaving the site.
