News: Sector 53 residents in Noida say daily power cuts have gone on for six months, utility sees no issue-06-09-2026
Residents of Sector 53 in Noida say they have faced power cuts almost daily for six months, while the power department says there is no known ongoing issue.
Ram Lakhan Chaudhary, president of the RWA of Kanchenjunga Apartments, said outages last one to two hours and have worsened, forcing residents to rely on inverters. RWA general secretary Virendra Singh Negi cited voltage fluctuations, phase outages, cuts whenever it rains, and an underground cable fault near Substation-53 lasting about 10 days, with Feeder No. 9 routed through the already loaded Feeder No. 1.
Mohit Dixit, executive engineer at UPPCL, said there was a cut of about an hour on Saturday but nothing is ongoing and no complaint has reached him. He said the feeder issue would be looked into.
