News: IKEA gives a taste of its Saket menu, with Rs 20 samosas, hot dogs and Swedish meatballs-22-07-2026
IKEA will open its second city-format store in Delhi at DLF Avenue, Saket, on July 30, and has previewed the food menu ahead of the launch. A loaded vegetarian hot dog is priced at Rs 69 and a loaded chicken hot dog at Rs 99. Samosas cost Rs 20, while tea or coffee is Rs 99 with free refills. The outlet will also serve Swedish meatballs and almond cake.
Aadosh Sharma, Country Commercial Manager at IKEA India, told HT.com that the company wanted shoppers at the smaller city store to get the same restaurant experience as at its larger outlets. He said no IKEA visit is complete without food and urged visitors not to skip it.
The Saket store is IKEA’s fourth city-format outlet in India, after Worli in Mumbai, Pune and Pacific Mall in Delhi’s Subhash Nagar. It comes a year after the retailer launched e-commerce services in Delhi-NCR and set up its first physical customer touchpoint in the capital.
Patrik Antoni, CEO of IKEA India, said Saket and DLF Avenue felt like a natural home for the brand, and that the store makes it easier for more customers to explore the range. He added that IKEA teams visited several homes across South Delhi to understand residents’ challenges, aspirations and furnishing needs.
Pooja Grover, Country Expansion Manager at IKEA India, told reporters that Delhi is a priority and growth market. IKEA has been in India for eight years and aims to run 30 stores by 2030. It entered the country in 2018 with a store in Hyderabad and now operates seven stores across Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune and Delhi.
