News: Omaxe enters hotel business with Rs 6,200 crore plan for 19 hotels in five states-29-06-2026
Omaxe has set up a separate hospitality business and intends to invest about Rs 6,200 crore over the next five years in 19 hotels covering nearly 5 million sq ft across five states. The company disclosed the plan in a regulatory filing on June 29, saying the spending will depend on project-specific and regulatory approvals as well as market conditions. It will focus on fast-growing urban centres, pilgrimage destinations and transit corridors.
Twelve of the hotels will come up in Uttar Pradesh: two each in Ayodhya, Kaushambi and Vrindavan, three in Lucknow, and one each in Prayagraj, Ghaziabad and Gorakhpur. Omaxe will also build one hotel each in New Delhi, Faridabad and Ujjain, and four across Chandigarh, Amritsar and Ludhiana, two of them in Chandigarh. Over the next four to five years the company expects to be present in 13 cities in five states.
Key projects include a 158-key Gateway Hotel by IHCL at The Omaxe State, its 50.4-acre integrated destination in Dwarka, New Delhi, which is being developed with the Delhi Development Authority under a public-private partnership. In Uttar Pradesh, the company will also build transit-oriented hospitality projects through PPP arrangements with the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation.
The hotels will be integrated with Omaxe’s existing townships, mixed-use and commercial projects, and will be run by hospitality chains. The company said it is in advanced talks with leading domestic and international operators and will announce partnerships once agreements are final. The portfolio will serve business travel, leisure, destination weddings, MICE and religious tourism.
Omaxe said the business could generate around Rs 1,000 crore in annual revenue once stabilised, subject to execution, occupancy and approvals.
Managing Director Mohit Goel said hospitality is a natural extension of the company’s integrated development strategy, given better connectivity, growing religious tourism and rising travel in emerging markets.
