News: Viral video: Noida buyer of Rs 1 crore flat shows peeling plaster and pigeon-linked insects-21-04-2026
A viral video by a Noida homeowner has drawn attention to complaints about construction quality in high-rise societies. The man, who bought a flat on the 22nd floor for Rs 1 crore, shows crumbling plaster and heavy discolouration on the building exterior, and says the condition does not justify the price.
He also raises a hygiene problem, saying pigeon waste from the empty flat next to his has led to insects of many kinds he had never seen. He says he has put up pigeon nets, but the birds still dirty the neighbouring unit. The clip has struck a chord across the National Capital Region, where pigeons on balconies are a familiar problem, and has sparked talk about the gap between high prices and what builders actually deliver.
It was posted on Instagram by a content creator who goes by “adarshxunfltrd”, with the caption advising people to choose their own house over flats or apartments. In the video, the man says he regrets investing Rs 1 crore, points to the exteriors, and notes that the interiors of the flat can be done up as one likes. His complaint is that the exterior state does not match what he paid.
Social media users responded with comments such as “One balcony 10 million regret” and “That’s the reason I don’t like flats”. Another said buyers are charged crores for small flats, and a fourth wrote that poor builder quality shows up four or five years after buying.
