News: Yeida board clears Rs 11,809 crore budget for 2026-27, with Rs 8,000 crore for land near Noida airport-21-03-2026
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) has approved an annual budget of Rs 11,809.08 crore for 2026-27 for development work in Yamuna City. The decision came at the authority’s 89th board meeting on Friday, chaired by Alok Kumar, its chairman and the Uttar Pradesh additional chief secretary. The board also cleared a 3.58 per cent increase in the allotment rate.
Rs 8,000 crore of the outlay is meant for land acquisition, mainly to back development around the Noida airport. Additional CEO Shailendra Bhatia said the budget covers land acquisition, urban development works, village development and other departments. Other provisions include Rs 7.55 crore for payments against various expenditures, Rs 705 crore for loan repayment, Rs 3.53 crore for refunds to consumers, Rs 2,011 crore for development and construction, Rs 502 crore for the airport, Rs 300 crore for multi-modal connectivity and Rs 280 crore for miscellaneous dues.
Officials said the stress on land acquisition reflects growing investor interest in data centres, an educational hub, mega townships, manufacturing and electronics units near the airport.
During a visit to Singapore in February 2026, chief minister Yogi Adityanath oversaw three MoUs worth Rs 6,650 crore with Universal Success Group. Two of the projects are for the Jewar and Noida region, including a Rs 3,500 crore international theme-based township on 100 acres near Noida International Airport. A Rs 2,500 crore hyperscale data centre park of 40 MW is also planned in the Noida region. Bhatia said the aim is to offer high-speed metro and direct rail links.
The board also set up a committee under the additional CEO to fix rates for transport nagar and multi-use plots in Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna City, and approved a traffic park-cum-training centre for issuing driving licences.
