News: Rs 20 Crore Master Drain Proposed for Sectors 37C, 37D-06-10-2026
The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) plans to build a master stormwater drain in sectors 37C and 37D to curb monsoon waterlogging, officials said on Tuesday.
A senior official said an estimate of around Rs 20 crore has been prepared and tenders will be issued after approval. Vikram Singh, executive engineer, GMDA, said the 3.5 kms drain will run along the main sector road and carry rainwater from both sectors to the Badshahpur drain.
It will start near Esplanade Mall in Sector 37C. Officials said condominiums such as RMG Residency, Crona Optus, Takshila Heights, Signature Millennia, Global City, Ramprastha City, BPTP Park Serene and Park Generation, along with sector 9B, Basai and nearby areas, will benefit.
Manish Kumar, a resident of Sector 37D, said the existing surface drain is in bad shape and the area, which has several condominiums and schools, floods heavily every year.
