News: DLF Gets NHAI Nod for Cyber City Flyover and Underpass-04-10-2026
DLF has received in-principle approval from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to build a three-lane flyover from Ambience Mall to Cyber City and a three-lane underpass from Moulsari Avenue towards Delhi beneath the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway, the authority said on Saturday. The Haryana government had given its approval earlier.
The works are meant to ease congestion between Sirhaul and Shankar Chowk. NHAI’s approval letter states that the entire cost, from planning and design to construction, utility shifting, land acquisition (if any), operation and maintenance, will be borne by DLF, with "no financial liability whatsoever" on NHAI. A senior DLF official, who did not wish to be named, put the cost at around Rs 130 crore to Rs 140 crore.
The flyover will start at the U-turn underpass near Ambience Mall on the Delhi to Jaipur side and run parallel to the existing flyover above the service road, letting vehicles avoid conflicts at Moulsari Avenue and Shankar Chowk. The underpass will let vehicles from Moulsari Avenue Road pass under the expressway and join the middle lanes towards Delhi.
A highway authority official said any reduction in service road lanes must be offset by equivalent carriageway width at grade on both sides. Engineering drawings, traffic studies, structural designs and drainage arrangements must be approved by NHAI before work begins, and a traffic management plan cleared by the traffic department is required before each stage.
