News: MCG Suspends Engineer for Closing Live Sewer Complaint-02-10-2026
The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) on Friday suspended junior engineer Amit Kumar for allegedly marking an unresolved sewerage complaint as "resolved" on the e-Samadhan portal.
Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya ordered the suspension after a public grievance review chaired by Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini, who had hours earlier ordered action against two regional pollution officers over negligence in handling a complaint.
The complaint, filed by Satish Kumar Middha, concerned sewerage overflow and foul smell in New Colony, Sector 7. When officials called to verify, the complainant reportedly said the overflow continued.
Two other junior engineers, Arif Khan and Tilak, engaged through Haryana Kaushal Rojgar Nigam, have received show-cause notices over similar discrepancies. In Palam Vihar, a complaint by resident Shubham Nagia had been marked resolved though the problem persisted. Khan must reply in writing within three days and appear before the commissioner on October 5. Tilak’s notice relates to a complaint from Basai village and surrounding areas.
MCG officials said mismatches between portal records and ground conditions would be examined and responsibility fixed.
