News: Janaula Toll Plaza to Earn NHAI Rs 57 Crore a Year-01-10-2026
The toll plaza coming up at Janaula on the under-construction Gurugram Pataudi Rewari highway is expected to generate Rs 57 crore annually for the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), officials said, as the authority began the process of setting it up.
The plaza will have eight lanes on each side and a multi-lane free flow (MLFF) system that lets vehicles pay without stopping. A senior NHAI official said construction is about 80% complete and the MLFF system will be installed by another NHAI company, which has floated the tender. The contractor will design, supply, install, test and commission the infrastructure, with one gantry in each direction within approximately 350 metres downstream of the fee plaza. The bid will be opened on October 23. Janaula is 19 kms from Dwarka expressway, the official said.
The 45-km highway cost Rs 1,900 crore, including Rs 600 crore for land acquisition. A railway over bridge at Pahari village and a flyover at Dwarka Expressway remain, and officials said both will be finished by March. The Wazirpur flyover will open once high-tension lines there are shifted.
Load-bearing tests are under way on the Jamalpur flyover, due to open in a few days, while the Patli flyover is expected to open within 15 days. Three flyovers between Dwarka Expressway and Wazirpur and the Pataudi bypass opened earlier this month.
Officials estimate around 70% of Gurugram-Rewari traffic on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway will shift to the new route.
