News: NHAI Tenders Free-Flow Tolling for Kukdola Plaza-30-09-2026
Vehicles will not need to halt at the planned Kukdola toll plaza near Pachgaon if a tender floated by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), announced Tuesday, goes through. It seeks a multi-lane free flow (MLFF) system, gantry-based, for the plaza that will take over from Kherki Daula on the Delhi-Jaipur highway, about 12 kilometres away. The Union transport ministry agreed in May last year to move Kherki Daula after residents kept demanding it.
Officials aware of the matter said technical bids open on October 23. The winner will also build the plaza’s control centre at Kukdola, and, as a senior NHAI official explained, will create, design and run the MLFF system and be paid by transaction count. He said the full job should be done within three months of award, and bidders have been given the estimated toll collection as a reference.
Per the tender, two gantries must be placed on the main carriageway, including paved shoulders, in each direction, each roughly within 350 metres downstream of its fee plaza. Required equipment includes automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras, radio-frequency identification (RFID) readers and antenna, detector-Lidar, detector-radar and audit surveillance cameras.
Highway officials said Kukdola and the Bijwasan fee plaza on the Dwarka Expressway will be integrated plazas, with charges following the NHAI annual fee notification. The request for proposal (RFP) puts Kukdola’s 2025-26 collection at Rs 165.9 crore. The official said ANPR and FASTag-based electronic collection will make tolling contactless and automated, keep vehicles moving, and also ease congestion and jams at Kherki Daula.
