News: Sector 33 Metro Depot: Tender to Shift Substation Gear-24-09-2026
Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (HVPNL) has floated a tender to shift two 66 kilovolt (kV) power line bays, a capacitor bank and associated equipment at its Sector 33 substation, freeing around 300 square-metres needed for the proposed Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) depot.
A senior HVPNL official, asking not to be named, said the work is estimated at Rs 37 lakh and must be finished within 150 days of the work order.
GMRL plans the depot on 47 acres. Officials told HT that HSVP will transfer the land on permanent lease at Rs 1 per sq metre, with monthly rent of around Rs 1.90 lakh, and has sought ownership of half the proposed metro bhawan.
GMRL floated a Rs 409 crore depot tender on June 16, with the opening deadline extended from July 22 to August 5. A senior GMRL official said the tender is with higher authorities in Chandigarh and is likely to be floated within a month.
