News: MCG Sets Up Night Control Room for Faulty Streetlights-23-09-2026
A control room has been set up at the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) office in Sector 34 to monitor streetlights on major roads, footpaths and central verges and speed up repairs, officials said on Tuesday.
Seventeen employees have been deployed for night-time monitoring, while zone and ward officials will inspect regularly and report dead lights. Three officials will staff the control room and alert the agency holding the tender, with a junior engineer in charge by rotation.
The step comes ahead of winter fog. HT reported on September 20 that MCG would repair 350 lights on central verges and at least 300 along footpaths, work expected to take five to six months after contracts are awarded.
