News: Haryana to Acquire 107 Acres for 24-Metre Roads in Gurugram-21-09-2026
A proposal to acquire around 107 acres for missing 24-metre-wide internal roads in sectors 81 to 86 and Sector 104 of Gurugram has been prepared by the Haryana government, officials said. It is the first phase of a wider plan covering sectors 58 to 115.
The land was identified by the joint site inspection committee (JSIC), set up on the directions of J Ganesan, director general, Department of Town and Country Planning. A senior government official said the pilot proposal would soon go to higher authorities for approval.
Sector 104 needs around six acres from Gurgaon village and Dhanwapur village; Sector 81, 16 acres from Lakhanola and Nawada Fatehpur; Sector 81A, 15 acres from Lakhanola, Manesar and Shikohpur; Sector 82, three acres from Sikandarpur Badha, Lakhanola, Shikohpur and Sihi; and Sector 82A, 11 acres from Lakhanola and Shikohpur. Sector 83 requires 16 acres from Shikohpur, Kherki Daula and Sihi; Sector 84, 17 acres from Sihi, Bamdoli and Badha; Sector 85, 11 acres from Badha and Sikandarpur Badha; and Sector 86, 12 acres from Nawada Fatehpur, Badha and Sikandarpur Badha.
Under the Gurgaon-Manesar Master Plan 2031, developers were to build these roads, but several were held up by legal disputes and unavailability of land. A department survey found 1,158 acres are needed across sectors 58 to 115.
Acquisition will proceed under the 2013 land acquisition Act after JSIC submits a feasibility report to the Chief Administrator, HSVP, Panchkula. Ganesan’s order said the pilot would be funded from the department’s "EDC budget".
