News: Ardee City Flyover and Underpass Proposed at Rs 140 Cr-20-09-2026
A flyover and an underpass costing an estimated Rs 140 crore are planned at the congested Ardee City intersection, where sectors 43, 44, 52 and 52A meet, officials of the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) said.
A senior GMDA official said the detailed project report is almost ready and will go to the government for approval at the next authority meeting.
Under the initial plan, a six-lane flyover, three lanes each side, will come up on Saint Thomas Marg towards Sector 45, and a six-lane underpass on Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar Marg towards Sector 56. The official called the proposal tentative, saying higher authorities could change the design.
The underpass would complement another planned at Z Chowk near Millennium City Centre, around 2 km away. Four major roads converge at the junction: St Thomas Marg, Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar Marg, Bhagwan Mahavir Marg and Captain Ganpat Rao Yadav Marg.
Pravin Yadav, president, Ardee City RWA, said commuters wait at least 20 minutes to cross, and vehicles from Sector 45 heading to Golf Course Road take a long detour.
GMDA chief executive officer PC Meena said this project, with flyovers at Ambedkar Chowk, Dadi Sati Chowk and Bakhtawar Chowk and an underpass at Millennium City Centre, would significantly reduce congestion.
