News: Gurugram-Rewari-Pataudi Highway: 19 of 23 Flyovers Open-10-09-2026
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has opened three more flyovers for trial traffic on the 45km Gurugram-Rewari-Pataudi highway, taking the number opened to 19 of the 23 being built, officials said on Thursday.
The three are at ATS Chowk near Harsaru, on the road linking Pataudi Road with Sultanpur Road, and at Harsaru near Hayatpur. Commuters can reach them through the service roads.
Of the remaining four, the flyovers at Babra Bakipur and Jamalpur are likely to open by mid-October. The Wazirpur flyover awaits shifting of high-tension power lines and should be completed by December, and the Dwarka Expressway flyover by January. Until then, traffic at Wazirpur will use the ground-level service road.
The highway is being built for Rs 1,900 crore, including around Rs 600 crore for land acquisition. It has 81 culverts, 23 flyovers, one railway overbridge and four pedestrian underpasses. NHAI officials said most of it should be operational by January next year, except the railway overbridge at Pahari village.
Last month, the Pataudi bypass was opened for trial traffic, which officials said has reduced congestion in Pataudi town. NHAI expects the full highway to take traffic off the Delhi-Jaipur highway.
NHAI is also preparing an estimate to repair the rain-damaged 1.6km stretch between Umang Bhardwaj Chowk and Hero Honda Chowk. A tender will be floated soon.
