News: Rs 19.30 Crore Sewer Network for Sectors 77-80 Cleared-08-09-2026
The high-powered works purchase committee chaired by chief minister Nayab Singh Saini has approved a Rs 19.30 crore proposal to expand the sewerage network in Sectors 77 to 80, the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) said on Monday.
About 8 kilometres of pipeline, 800 mm to 1,200 mm in diameter, will be laid along with the allied infrastructure needed to make the network operational. The work is to be completed in two years and carries a three-year defect liability period.
Residents of developing sectors have long sought the expansion as the population in sectors 58 to 115 grows. GMDA officials said Haryana Shahri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) had partially laid the network in the new sectors but it is not fully functional, and the two agencies are addressing the gaps.
GMDA CEO PC Meena, who attended the meeting, said in a statement that the project would strengthen sewerage connectivity in New Gurugram. He said lines in Sectors 68 to 76 are being laid with a June 2027 target. HSVP is laying lines in Sectors 81 to 103, while GMDA’s work in Sectors 104 to 115 is targeted for March 2027.
