News: Gurugram Road Safety Panel Orders Repair of Six Roads-04-09-2026
The district road safety committee (DRSC) has told civic bodies and road-owning agencies to prioritise repair of six stretches damaged by waterlogging and heavy rain since the monsoon set in in July.
The directions followed its monthly meeting on Wednesday. The stretches include the Gurugram-Faridabad and Pataudi roads, those leading to Jamalpur and Atul Kataria Chowk, one near Garhi Mod and service lanes close to Kherki Daula. Officials said they have cracks, potholes and deformation.
The committee asked that service roads linking Dwarka Expressway with Pataudi Road and near Kherki Daula be blacktopped. Slip roads on both sides of the Jamalpur Chowk flyover need resurfacing, and renovation was recommended from Wazirpur to Hyatpur and from Garhi Mor to Elan Mall via Gamdoli village. Traffic police told the panel that pipeline work near DAV School at Atul Kataria Chowk has left part of the road incomplete, causing unauthorised parking and congestion.
On the Gurugram-Faridabad road, several patches developed potholes within two weeks of pre-monsoon repair. A senior PWD official said the concessionaire would complete repairs by September 30.
NHAI engineers told the DRSC that service lanes along the Rampura Flyover near Kherki Daula will be built after GMDA lays a load-bearing drain there. Resurfacing on Pataudi road and the Jamalpur-Chowk stretch will follow inspections in September, officials said.
