News: Dhesi Urges Faster Master Sewer in Gurugram Sectors 81-115-01-09-2026
Principal advisor (urban development) DS Dhesi on Tuesday directed the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) and the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) to expedite laying of the master sewerage network from sectors 81 to 115 and to settle land-related issues quickly, officials said.
At a review meeting, Dhesi said litigation over land acquisition affecting small portions should not hold up the project. According to a GMDA statement, he said teams from both agencies would assess the ground situation and finalise practical solutions, including alternative alignments where required.
HSVP officials said about 25 kilometres of sewer line has been laid in sectors 81 to 87 and handed over to GMDA. Approximately 1,700 metres remains incomplete because of ongoing litigation, leaving missing links.
GMDA officials said around 20 kilometres is planned in sectors 104 to 115, of which approximately 8 kilometres has been laid. The rest is being taken up on priority where the ROW is available.
A GMDA spokesperson said a tender has been floated for a 100 MLD sewage treatment plant (STP) in Sector 107, to which sewage from sectors 81 to 115 will be diverted. Dhesi asked for close coordination so completed sewer lines can be integrated with the plant.
GMDA CEO PC Meena and administrator HSVP Vaishali Singh were among those present.
