News: GMRL to Meet Developers on Metro Station Naming Rights-01-09-2026
Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) will hold a meeting this month with developers, industrialists and RWAs, particularly those with projects near the metro route, to discuss partnerships, access to stations and advertising rights, officials aware of the matter said.
The aim is to maximise alternative revenue through property development at stations, station naming rights and advertising. A senior GMRL official said corporate adoption of stations, as in the Delhi Metro, would be discussed, and a stakeholder could get a station facade designed to its requirements. Modalities are being worked out.
GMRL also wants to understand how transit-oriented development (ToD) of real estate projects in the metro zone could raise revenue.
A similar meeting last year gathered inputs from developers and industry owners on pedestrian amenities and direct connectivity with corporate offices and commercial buildings.
Separately, GMRL has sought 10,000 sq metres of land in Badhshapur and Wazirabad tehsils for temporary workers’ camps. An HSVP official said the request was under consideration.
