News: Dwarka Expressway Societies Wait for Stalled PNG Lines-31-08-2026
Gurugram residents have complained that incomplete gas pipeline work is holding up piped natural gas (PNG) connections in several societies. They said work has either not begun or is unfinished in over half the housing societies between sectors 101 and 115 along the Dwarka Expressway.
SK Paul of Puri Emerald Bay in Sector 104 told HT that almost a year after pipelines were laid and meters installed in homes, no connection has been given. He claimed Haryana City Gas (HCG) officials said they could not locate the pipelines laid earlier and would lay fresh ones.
At Godrej Meridian in Sector 106, work has yet to start, said resident Yash Varmani, though some nearby societies were contacted in April and May. Balwinder Singh of Joyville condominium in Sector 102 said work that should have finished much earlier this year is still in progress, with no timeline shared.
In Sector 17B, residents said HCG began work that has since stalled, with no word on next steps. Resident Bijay Madan claimed trenches and pits were left open without supervision, endangering pedestrians in the monsoon.
A senior HCG official, who did not address the specific complaints, told HT that work is under way in several societies and will begin in others after the monsoon.
