News: Kherki Daula Toll Plaza to Shift 12 km to Kukdola-31-08-2026
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has started the process of denotifying the Kherki Daula toll plaza, which is to be shifted to Kukdola near Pachgaon, around 12 kms from its current site in Gurugram.
The Union transport ministry approved the move to Pachgaon in May 2025, but villagers opposed the proposed spot. After prolonged deliberations with local authorities, the location has been finalised in Kukdola towards Sehrawan.
A senior NHAI official said the toll committee would notify the new plaza near Sehrawan, which would take around three to four months.
Officials said the relocation will also change the fees at the Bijwasan toll plaza on the Dwarka expressway and the Shahjahanpur toll plaza on the Delhi-Jaipur highway, because the effective length between plazas will change.
The shift itself will take around five more months. A toll building will be constructed at Kukdola and gantries installed for a multi-lane free-flow plaza, which allows barrier-less tolling so vehicles pass without stopping.
Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari announced the shifting at a public rally in Badshapur in 2016, following persistent local demands. Land unavailability, litigation, protests, lack of forest clearance and security issues delayed it for almost a decade.
