News: Orris MD Amit Gupta Arrested on Godrej Complaint-23-08-2026
Amit Gupta, managing director of Orris Infrastructure Pvt Ltd, has been arrested by Mumbai Police in a case registered on a complaint by Godrej Properties Ltd alleging forgery, cheating, criminal breach of trust and criminal conspiracy, officials said.
An official said Gupta was arrested in Amritsar in connection with FIR No. 0183/2026, registered at Vikhroli police station on March 17, and has been remanded in police custody till August 27.
The case concerns the Godrej Air project in Sector 85, Gurugram, in which the two companies were partners. According to the FIR, Godrej Properties alleged that unauthorised changes were made to the LLP’s records with the Registrar of Companies (ROC) using false documents, through a Form-3 allegedly filed on January 14, 2026. It alleged that its nominated partner was removed and another individual shown as a partner, and questioned an alleged transfer of its 37.5 per cent interest in the LLP.
There was no immediate comment from Orris, a Gurugram-based company.
A senior police officer in Gurugram said they were seeking Gupta’s arrest in a land collaboration case registered at Kherki Daula police station in July. The arrest has also renewed attention on around 1,650 homebuyers of Orris’s Greenopolis project who have awaited possession for years.
