News: Rajiv Chowk Flyover Tenders Likely by March 2027-20-08-2026
Tenders for two flyovers at Rajiv Chowk will be floated by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in March 2027 after land issues are resolved, district administration officials said on Wednesday, citing the 12th district coordination meeting.
One elevated corridor will start from the service road on the Delhi side towards Sohna, and the other will run from Sohna Road towards Delhi. An official who attended said the issue over land of the department of telecommunications was being resolved.
A Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) spokesperson said DS Dhesi, principal advisor (urban development) of Haryana, chaired the meeting. NHAI also proposed closing the underground non-motorised transport (NMT) facility at Rajiv Chowk, citing low use and monsoon waterlogging.
Dhesi was told most of the Gurugram, Pataudi and Rewari highway would be finished by September, and that six more air monitoring stations would be installed by December. He directed that footpaths be built within about 500 metres of the two Sector 29 Metro stations, and that 436 bigha restored to the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) along the Gurugram-Faridabad Road, following Supreme Court directions, be used to increase green cover.
