News: DDA Books 661 of 1,218 Narela Flats on Day One-16-08-2026
More than half the flats in the DDA Karmajeevi Awaas Yojana 2026 were booked on the first day, with 661 of the 1,218 ready-to-move units taken within hours, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) said. The 1-BHK units priced at Rs 33.4 lakh sold out completely.
Of the first-day bookings, 383 were 1-BHK units, 198 were 2-BHKs and 80 were 3-BHKs, officials said. In a statement on Aug 16, DDA said the 1-BHK response showed a strong preference for affordable housing among homebuyers and working professionals, and reflected growing demand for its Narela housing.
Launched under the guidance of Delhi LG Taranjit Singh Sandhu, the scheme opened on the 80th Independence Day on a first come, first serve basis. Registration began on July 24, 2026, and bookings on August 15, 2026.
The flats are at Pocket-11, Sector A1-A4, Narela, and are offered at a flat 25% discount to serving and retired government employees and to working professionals from the corporate, business, entrepreneurial and professional sectors. The 1-BHKs of around 655-660 sq ft start at Rs 33.40 lakh, 2-BHKs of up to about 1,362-1,507 sq ft at Rs 75.55 lakh, and 3-BHKs of up to nearly 1,768-1,978 sq ft at Rs 1.065 crore after the discount.
The complex is around 1.2 km from the upcoming Metro station, 1.9 km from the proposed RRTS station, 500 metres from UER-I, 1.1 km from GT Karnal Road and 6.15 km from UER-II. According to DDA, it overlooks Mamurpur Forest and is near the Narela Sports Complex, the upcoming Education Hub and the proposed Integrated Sports Stadium.
The flats are freehold, and applicants may already own another property. Adjoining flats can be amalgamated, subject to DDA norms and approvals. Registration and booking are entirely online through the DDA Awaas Portal.
In the first quarter of the current financial year, DDA sold 1,284 flats for more than Rs 1,020 crore. Narela accounted for 1,153 of them, or nearly 90%.
