News: Faults Leave 12 Dwarka Expressway Societies Without Power-15-08-2026
Multiple faults in power supply infrastructure cut electricity to 12 societies along the Dwarka Expressway for up to 10 hours on Saturday, affecting at least 12,000 to 15,000 families, officials and residents said.
The societies were Emaar Imperial Gardens, Shapoorji Pallonji Joyville, Adani Oyster, BPTP Amstoria, ROF Aalayas, Suncity Avenue, Emaar Gurgaon Greens and Conscient Heritage Max in Sector-102, Satya The Hermitage in Sector-103, M3M Woodshire in Sector-107, and ATS Kocoon and SBTL Caladium in Sector-109.
Sunil Sareen, Imperial Gardens RWA vice president, said supply was out from 6am until 4.30pm and that faults in developers’ or Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited infrastructure occur almost every other day. Dhananjay Jha, Suncity Avenue RWA president, said 761 families suffered for almost 10 hours, inverters drained and stored food had to be thrown away.
A senior DHBVN official, who asked not to be named, blamed a fault in a 33kV feeder cable box connecting the 220kV substation in Sector-107, at the point where the realtor-supplied feeder enters the substation’s gas-insulated system. Load was shifted to other feeders, which took time. The realtor will fix the cable box within a day or two, he said.
Discom officials said a vacuum circuit breaker (VCB) panel fault at Joy Ville caused a 10-hour outage there and hit Imperial Gardens through common supply lines. It was rectified by 4.30pm. Societies in Sectors 103, 107 and 109 lost power for four hours overall after a society’s 33kV feeder tripped twice.
