News: Sector 46 Road, Market to Get CCTV Under Rs 99.1-Lakh Tender-15-08-2026
The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has floated a Rs 99.1 lakh tender to install CCTV cameras and a public address system on the Sector 46 main road and adjoining market under its Smart Roads project, officials said on Saturday.
The tender, floated on Friday, covers supply, erection, testing and commissioning of the cameras and a sound system for announcements and music, according to the document seen by HT. MCG Executive Engineer Sachin Yadav called it a pilot project and said the cameras will be fixed on smart street light poles.
The Smart Roads project aims to improve roads, pedestrian and cycling facilities, drainage, lighting and traffic management on key stretches, with MCG and the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) each handling their own roads. A similar tender for Palam Vihar was recalled for lack of bidders.
MCG plans to develop 124.42 km of model roads. As of March, work had begun on 20.6 km and nearly 70% of identified projects were at the planning stage. The wider plan envisages redeveloping 23 roads by the end of 2026, 15 under MCG and eight under GMDA.
