News: Monthly Road Inspections Ordered for GMDA Engineers-05-08-2026
Sub-divisional engineers of the GMDA must inspect roads in their jurisdiction once a month and report to the executive engineer concerned, D.S. Executive engineers will make quarterly inspections to check that agencies meet quality standards during the defects liability period (DLP).
Chairing a review meeting at the GMDA office, Dhesi cited a recent Supreme Court judgment on pedestrian rights and told all agencies to keep footpaths safe, uninterrupted and walkable, starting with high-footfall stretches. As a first step, GMDA will develop pedestrian-friendly footpaths from Rajiv Chowk to the Tower of Justice. A GMDA spokesperson said newly built roads and project timelines are to be closely monitored.

The Gwal Pahari pipeline is on schedule and will supply about 19.5 million litres per day (MLD) of treated water.
Executive engineer Vikram Singh said about 90km of the balance drainage network in Sectors 88 to 115 is laid. GMDA is executing nearly 6.5km of the rest and Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) the remainder.
