News: Rs 25-Crore Service Roads Approved, Subhash-Hero Honda Chowk-04-08-2026
Service roads will be built on both sides of the master sector road from Subhash Chowk to Hero Honda Chowk at a cost of about Rs 25 crore, following approval by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), officials said.
The stretch is congested because of ongoing Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) construction, and the service roads will add capacity. Tenders are expected within a week, and the contractor will have 18 months from the award. GMRL has given its consent.
GMDA executive engineer Amit Godara said the project includes drains and footpaths, which will smooth traffic on the 3-km stretch and address waterlogging.
Separately, officials said on Monday that GMDA has begun the process of completing a pending 900-metre road corridor in Sectors 68 and 69. GMDA chief executive officer PC Meena said the Rs 25.37 crore project comprises a main carriageway, a parallel service road of the same length, a stormwater drainage network and continuous footpaths, and will be finished within one year of allotment.
