News: GMDA to Take Over Master Road Streetlights from HSVP-30-07-2026
Officials said the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) will run and maintain streetlights on master roads in developing sectors, taking over from the Haryana Shehari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP). CEO PC Meena had said earlier this year that, as GMDA already handles other master services on those roads, it would do so.
Today the Municipal Corporation Gurugram (MCG) maintains lights in Sectors 1 to 57 and HSVP in 58 to 115. GMDA wants HSVP to name a nodal officer for joint inspection, physical verification and geo-mapping. "Once it comes under GMDA’s jurisdiction, the streetlight network will be further improved," a senior GMDA official said.
Requested: Sectors 58 to 67, Golf Course Extension Road, Southern Peripheral Road, Sectors 69 and 70, Sectors 81 to 95, Sectors 99 to 115 and Leisure Valley Park in Sector 29, plus files on maintenance contracts, ongoing installation tenders and contractor disputes.
The network will be linked to the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) for real-time monitoring, GPS mapping and tracking.
An HSVP official said GMDA already manages master water supply, stormwater drainage and sewerage on these roads, and that all tender and maintenance records will be shared.
