News: Gurugram Metro Corridor to Have Five Interchange Stations-29-07-2026
Five interchange stations will link Gurugram’s under-construction metro corridor with the Delhi Metro, the proposed Bhondsi-railway station metro corridor and the Namo Bharat network, Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) officials said on Tuesday, after managing director Dr Chandrashekhar Khare reviewed the project. They are Millennium City Centre, which meets the Delhi Metro’s Yellow Line; Subhash Chowk and Sector 5, tying into the Bhondsi line; and Hero Honda Chowk and DLF Cyber City, serving Namo Bharat.
Khare inspected the Old Gurugram Metro project on Monday. He told officials to plan the Millennium City Centre interchange around Delhi-bound commuters, saying integration should ensure smooth and convenient travel. Double-decker stretches at Krishna Chowk near Palam Vihar and near Sector 21 were also discussed.
He visited the casting yard too, stressing strict safety protocols, and asked GMRL to work with GMDA and HVPNL to prioritise the reversal track from Millennium City Centre towards Vyapar Kendra Road. A GMRL statement said he urged the contractor to speed up, asked that bottlenecks between Hero Honda Chowk and Umang Bhardwaj Chowk be cleared with NHAI, HVPNL, DHBVN and GMDA, and directed shifting of water, sewer, gas, electricity lines and stormwater drains before Phase 2 from Sector 9 to Cyber Hub begins.
