A proposed Metro line from Sector 56 in Gurugram to Pachgaon will cover 36 kilometres with 28 elevated stations, passing through the planned Global City and IMT Manesar, according to Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC) officials.
A senior official, who did not wish to be named, said the corridor will link to the Rapid Metro through a spur at Sector 56. The final draft of the detailed project report (DPR), prepared by RITES India Limited, was received on May 16 and will soon go to the state government for approval. The Haryana government will bear most of the construction cost, the official said.
The agenda of HMRTC’s 65th board meeting on June 22 recorded that a 10% central grant has been approved. Haryana would bear 20% of the cost, seek 10% from the Centre and raise the remainder through bank loans.
A second senior HMRTC official said the Haryana State Industrial & Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) will contribute Rs 1,500 crore of the estimated Rs 10,000 crore, as much of the line passes through its areas in Gurugram and Manesar.
