News: MCG Staff Trained on IIT Gandhinagar Flood Decision System-29-06-2026
The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has reviewed its Flood Decision Support System (DSS), developed with IIT Gandhinagar, and trained officials and staff to use it for real-time monitoring and faster response to waterlogging, officials said.
The training covered predicting likely waterlogging, digitally assessing planned monsoon works and judging the impact of proposed projects before execution. Experts also showed how to analyse system reports, coordinate with field teams and keep real-time data updated.
Additional municipal commissioner Yash Jaluka said the DSS would help the civic body take quicker and more accurate decisions in the monsoon, plan future drainage projects scientifically and use resources better. MCG commissioner Pradeep Dahiya said the initiative reflects collaboration between industry, government and academic institutions.
HT had earlier reported that MCG’s website now lets residents report waterlogging by uploading photographs and the approximate water depth.
