News: Home Sales Up 19% in Top 9 Cities in Q2 2026: PropEquity-25-06-2026
Housing sales across India’s top nine cities grew 19% year-on-year to 112,458 units in Q2 2026, from 94,864 units a year earlier, a PropEquity report has said. Quarter-on-quarter, sales rose 14% and supply 27%.
The report linked the growth to new supply of 117,609 units, up 43% YoY, and said geopolitical uncertainties in the Middle East had not affected it.
Navi Mumbai recorded the sharpest sales rise at 54%, followed by Chennai at 33%, Hyderabad at 25% and Bengaluru at 20%. Pune was up 16%, Mumbai 15% and Thane 3%. Sales fell 17% in Delhi NCR and 12% in Kolkata.
Samir Jasuja, Founder and CEO, PropEquity, said the market has stayed resilient, led by southern cities, and that higher supply after several quarters of constrained launches has lifted absorption. Investors who were earlier looking at the Middle East are showing more interest in India, he added.
On supply, Navi Mumbai led with 116% growth at 9902 units, followed by Mumbai with 111% at 10,438 units, Hyderabad with 75% at 18,407 units and Bengaluru with 71% at 24,340 units. Hyderabad became the second largest supply market after Bengaluru. Supply fell 6% in Delhi-NCR to 12977 units and 2% in Kolkata to 2608 units.
