News: Rs 46.45 Lakh Tender to Clear Debris on Sector 81-95 Roads-15-06-2026
A Rs 46.45 lakh tender has been floated by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) to clear debris and accumulated dust from master roads in Sectors 81 to 95, officials said on Saturday. The year-long drive is meant to deter illegal dumping of construction and demolition waste and reduce monsoon waterlogging. Bidding is open till June 16.
Routine cleaning will stay with the Municipal Corporation of Manesar (MCM), while GMDA handles debris removal on key stretches. The authority estimates 2,500 cubic metres of excavated soil and debris will be removed over the year. The work includes sewer suction pump sets with 8,000-litre tankers during the rains.
Residents welcomed the step. Praveen Malik, president of the Rising Homes society’s residents’ welfare association, said heaps of dust lie along the roads dividing sectors 92/95 and 93/94 despite complaints. Mayank Chauhan of Godrej Frontier Society said dust and debris narrow the carriageway and raise accident risk.
MCM executive engineer Nijesh Manderna said area-wise teams clear dust routinely and a tender for larger sanitary measures, including road sweeping, is under way.
