News: Rs 34.62 Lakh Flood Command Centre Tender at MCG Sector 34-12-06-2026
An integrated command and control centre to track urban flooding will be set up at the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) office in Sector 34, and a tender has been floated for it, officials said on Thursday. The estimated cost is Rs 34.62 lakh.
The centre will monitor boosting stations and critical waterlogging-prone spots, work through the monsoon as a coordination hub for rain-related situations and grievances, and liaise with other departments. A micro-datacentre will store records for future planning. A senior MCG official said it is expected to be ready by July.
Officials said waterlogging will be watched through around 700 CCTV cameras, and around 269 sanitation workers, 84 suction tankers and 89 tractor-mounted pumps have been deployed.
HT reported in May that GMDA had planned a round-the-clock flood control room at its Sector 44 office. MCG has also added a waterlogging complaint feature to its website, mcg.gov.in.
