News: New Sector 51 Water Line Planned for Golf Course Road-09-06-2026
A new pipeline from the Sector 51 boosting station is planned to improve water supply in Sectors 42, 43, 53, 54 and 55, Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) officials said on Monday. Estimates are expected within a month and laying the line will take about a year.
The plan follows several complaints from residents of these sectors near Golf Course Road. A senior GMDA official said a survey confirmed the shortage was genuine, as the areas are at the tail end of the network, and promised improved supply by June next year. The official added that water availability will rise once the Sector 72 boosting station becomes operational, which is expected in the next couple of months.
Separately, GMDA’s enforcement wing on Monday demolished a vacant gas godown and office complex inside the Basai water treatment plant premises. A spokesperson said the land had already been acquired and was needed for expansion. District town planner RS Batth said around 250 square yards were cleared, paving the way for the proposed 100 MLD Unit-IV to augment the city’s water treatment capacity.
