News: Iffco Chowk to Greater SPR Road to Go Signal-Free-08-06-2026
The 10 km road from Iffco Chowk to the proposed Greater Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) is to be made signal-free, and the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has hired a consultancy firm for a feasibility study. Officials expect four to five grade separators, including flyovers and underpasses, at major intersections.
Underpasses are proposed at Z-Chowk near the Millennium City Centre metro station, RD Ardee City Chowk, Sector-52 Chowk, Golf Course Extension Road and the Sector-61/62 intersection, officials said. The Haryana government has already approved a three-lane underpass at Z Chowk. A cloverleaf interchange and a flyover are also planned to link the road with the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway.
GMDA executive engineer Amit Godara said the road will connect to the Greater SPR, the Gurugram-Faridabad road and Sohna road, and end at the Delhi Jaipur highway near Manesar. It will offer an alternative route to Manesar for people from Gurugram, Delhi and Faridabad who now use the Delhi-Jaipur Highway, he said.
Officials said the upgrade matters because the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC) and NCRTC plan a metro line up to Golf Course extension road and an RRTS corridor from Iffco Chowk to Faridabad along the stretch.
