News: SPR Elevated Road Tender Scrapped; Fresh Bid in a Month-05-06-2026
The Rs 750 crore tender for an elevated road on the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR), from Vatika Chowk to Clover Leaf on the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway, was withdrawn by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) on Friday, officials said.
A senior official said the request for proposals (RFP) is being revised. At a meeting in Chandigarh in the last week of May under Town and Country Planning Department Additional Chief Secretary Anurag Agarwal, technical changes were proposed to draw more bidders. GMDA chief engineer Pravin Chaudhary said a fresh tender will be floated within a month.
GMDA had issued a tender worth Rs 755 crore on March 7 for the 4.2 km road, to be built within 30 months of award. Its opening, first set for April 21, was put off to May 14 and then June 4.
The signal-free corridor is to have 4+4 lanes, with 3+3-lane primary service roads, 2+2 secondary service lanes and interchanges at NH-48 and Vatika Chowk.
